Donald Glover is joining 'Spider-Man'
#Donald4SpiderMan is sort of coming true.
Actor, comedian and rapper Donald Glover is joining the cast of Spider-Man: Homecoming, Deadline reports. The multi-hyphenate will be joining the cast of the Jon Watts-directed film starring Peter Parker newbie Tom Holland.
Glover's role has not yet been announced, but he'll be joining a cast that also includes Marisa Tomei as Aunt May, Michael Keaton, Zendaya, Kenneth Choi and more. Robert Downey Jr., a.k.a. Iron Man, will also appear in the film.

Longtime Glover fans must be pretty psyched about the news, marking it a (nearly) full circle moment. A few years ago, a social media campaign he jokingly started to become the next Spider-Man went viral, with fans using the hashtag #Donald4SpiderMan.
Glover commented on the craziness of the campaign and how it brought out some ugly racism in the superhero fandom in his 2012 standup special Weirdo.
"Half the world was like 'Donald for Spider-Man!'" he says. "The other half was like 'he's black, kill him!'"
The campaign picked up steam once again when Andrew Garfield gave up the reigns to the Spidey suit, but the role ultimately went to Holland.
