The original arcade version of Donkey Kong has landed for the Nintendo Switch.

Announced at E3 on Thursday, the re-release is the latest from Nintendo's Arcade Archives series, and sees the 1981 game reproduced in all its maddeningly difficult glory.

First reported by Kotaku, Donkey Kong has hit the Switch for a relatively affordable amount of $8.99, which is reasonable considering the official, licensed version of the game is pretty damn hard to track down outside a physical arcade.

I mean, you paid nothing for Fortnite on Switch, so it all evens out.

According to Nintendo, the Switch game contains both the early and later Japanese versions of DK, as well as the international version.

Players can change various game settings such as game difficulty, so you can either challenge yourself or get to Lady at the top of the construction site for the first freakin' time. Players can also compete against each other with their high scores, which is a nice callback to the arcade version.

Donkey Kong wasn't the only '80s game announced for Nintendo Switch at E3, with long-lost 1981 game Sky Skippers also coming in July, reports Kotaku.

They're the latest two for the Arcade Archives series, a series of various arcade titles re-released by publisher Hamster. On Switch, you'll already find Double Dragon, Super Mario Bros. and more.

Now, to get to the top of that damn construction site.
