Digital Chaos knocked out two tough teams to make the lower bracket finals and Fnatic advanced to the lower bracket semifinals in The International Dota 2 Championships Thursday. That leaves just five teams in the weeklong tournament.

Three more teams will be eliminated from the biggest Dota 2 competition of the year by the end of Friday. Then, the final two teams battle it out Saturday for a piece of a prize pool of more than $20 million.

Every minute of the sixth International will be broadcast live on Twitch and in the Dota 2 game client.

Thursday's results

Day four of The International kicked off with Digital Chaos' match against TNC Gaming. TNC had upset tournament favorite OG two days before the tournament kicked off. Meanwhile, Digital Chaos bested LGD Gaming after falling to the lower bracket. While TNC arrived with confidence to take the first game, they couldn't stick it out and got knocked out of the tournament with a 2-1 loss.

The best play of that game was when Digital Chaos turned it on around the 45-minute mark. The team grouped up and advanced on TNC, which was unaware of the coming onslaught. With a big economy advantage, DC pulled out all the stops with Resolut1on's Ember Spirit taking down two of TNC's team.

DC was still in tact and had more work to do, reining in and chasing down TNC's Demon and Raven, getting Resolut1on a triple kill.

From there, Digital Chaos moved on to the dire stronghold and killed TNC again and again and again until TNC gave them the gg. The team then moved on to take the third game without much trouble.

Up next was the match between two lower bracket teams, Team Liquid and Fnatic. Fnatic started off strong and never let go, handling Team Liquid through the entire first game. After advancing to Liquid's stronghold, Fnatic stayed aggressive and took out Liquid to force them to buyback. Fnatic wasn't hurt too bad and managed to beat Liquid again, eventually earning them the gg.

The tables turned In the second game as Team Liquid dominated Fnatic all the way to a 25-6 lead. At the 22-minute mark, Fnatic grouped up and took Team Liquid in a team fight, losing one to their three. From there, Fnatic couldn't be stopped, wiping out Team Liquid multiple times to get the economy advantage and take the match 2-0.

To cap off the night, Digital Chaos came back to the floor to take on the dominant wildcard, EHOME. EHOME performed well in the group stages and first half of the main event week, but Digital Chaos wasn't going to give them a chance. They came out aggressive, taking out a tier three tower in just under 23 minutes. In their second assault on EHOME's stronghold, DC slowed the defenders to a crawl and Saksa's Elder Titan laid down a perfect earth splitter, getting a double kill and weakening a third hero to be taken out swiftly.

DC took the first game in just over 30 minutes. And then they came out strong again, drawing first blood against EHOME's Old Eleven in just 13 seconds and then killing their courier a mere 20 seconds later. The teams traded kills for 20 minutes until DC ramped it up, picking off EHOME and winning team fights one after another. Finally, they won another quick game to advance with a 2-0 win.

Upcoming matches

With two days left in The International, only four matches remain. Friday's first match between MVP Phoenix and Fnatic will determine the winner of the lower bracket. The loser will go home and the winner will advance to face the loser of the upper bracket finals for one last chance at getting into the grand finals.

The second match is the upper bracket finals between Wings Gaming and the defending champions, Evil Geniuses. The winning team will go on to the grand finals and the loser will stick around for the last match of the night against the winner of the lower bracket.

Friday's matches will all be best-of-three while the grand finals match will be best-of-five. Broadcasts start at 10 a.m. PT every day.
