It's important to eat your greens every day. It's easier to do it when they come in the form of ice cream.

While Americans are enamored with our rainbow bagels, cronuts and even the Raindrop Cake, pastry chefs at the Oirase Keiryu Hotel, in Japan, have concocted a brand new edible, exotic dessert to captivate our taste buds.

The latest trendy dessert, called the Kokedama ice dessert, looks exactly like a big, ball of mud surrounded by moss, which might not sound too appetizing after a nice meal.

However, this edible is actually a big scoop of matcha ice cream (think: green tea, only more intense and flavorful), covered in spinach powder and sitting in a pool of green apple puree. From looking at the photo, provided by Spoon-Tamago.com, it's even garnished with some fresh mint.

There's never been a dessert so fresh and green. It sounds like eating a forest on a cool, spring day.

It's no wonder chefs in this particular location would create something so inspired by nature. The Oirase Keiryu Hotel is located in the Aomori Prefecture, which has most of its borders surrounded by water and is famous for its glorious mountains and streams.

The seasonal dessert is only available at the hotel between June 1 and Aug. 31, and costs 1,300 yen (about $11.80 USD).

If you can't make it to Japan this summer, you can always try foraging your nearest forest to see if you can find it in the wild -- but it probably won't be as refreshing (or as delicious).
