Elizabeth Warren got a new puppy because everything else is bad

Dogs can't solve the world's problems, but they are still extremely good. Elizabeth Warren knows this.

The Massachusetts senator, a longtime dog fan, tweeted a photo of her new, as-yet-unnamed pup on Sunday. "When I got back from Washington on Thursday night, [her husband] Bruce had someone new waiting for me," she wrote. "There's a lot of pain and chaos in the world right now -- we decided to bring a little gentleness and normalcy into our lives."

It's true: this good boy screams gentleness and normalcy. In fact, I just looked up "gentle" in the dictionary and this photo was in there! How did it get printed in a physical book so fast? Wow.

Also worth noting: this little friend looks a lot like Warren's late dog Otis, who passed away just before Warren won her senatorial race in 2012.
