Facebook helps you celebrate Mother's Day by putting purple flowers everywhere
What's a better way to celebrate Mother's Day than with animated purple flowers on Facebook? Actual flowers, you say? Get out of here.
Mother's Day is fast approaching and Facebook is here to help you celebrate. You can express your gratitude to the mothers in your life with numerous features, many of which are accented with purple flowers. The company's "Thankful" reaction is back for the days surrounding the holiday and using it even adds more flowers that wrap around the post.

The company is also launching customizable cards similar to the Valentine's Day experience, Instagram stickers featuring Mother's Day themes, and a Mother's Day twist on the fundraiser feature by allowing you to donate to your favorite cause in honor of your mom.
In recent years, Facebook has been completely capitalizing on its status as the new Hallmark with cards, stickers, and videos for every occasion from Friends Day to Chinese New Year. The company has been celebrating each occasion with handcrafted cards and custom experiences, much like Google Doodles have been doing for years.
It's also a convenient time to promote some of the company's newer features like fundraisers and the camera by tying in Facebook's favorite holiday — Mother's Day. The day is a huge for Facebook, "In 2016, Mother's Day drove more posts in one day than any other topic on Facebook with more than 105 million Mother's Day posts produced," the company said in a statement.
The Mother's Day features have already begun rolling out and will be coming to all users over the course of the weekend.
