Naturally, Trump's destroyed Walk of Fame star had faux 'Russian' guards watching over it

We have now entered what is either the most glorious or most tragic age of political performance art. And I honestly can't decide.

According to witnesses in the area, two men dressed as "Russian soldiers" were spotted standing guard at President Donald Trump's shattered Hollywood Walk of Fame star on Wednesday, because this is the world we live in now.

The faux guards can be seen in photos wearing what look to be Russian military uniforms (complete with warm hats) and holding a Russian flag.

According to the New York Post, the two men were first seen standing on the walk on Wednesday hours after a man named Austin Clay vandalized the star and later turned himself in. Clay now faces felony vandalism charges.

Clay is one of many who've messed with Trump's star. James Otis -- the guy who posted bail for Clay -- took a sledgehammer and a pickaxe to Trump's star days before the 2016 election. Otis and Clay have since met, according to TMZ, who first reported news of the bail payment.

Last week's star demolition also drew anti-Trump protestors to the walk, which led to an all-out fight on Wednesday night between protestors and Trump supporters, according to the Post.

Little is known about the two men standing guard over the star, but they'd hardly be the first to draw a connection between U.S. politics and Russia using performance art. And we doubt they'll be the last.
