Teens are accidentally setting themselves on fire during the #FireSprayChallenge

We do not recommend doing this.

This hashtag is literally fire.

#FireSprayChallenge is the latest questionable, potentially dangerous trend to sweep Instagram. To complete the challenge, 'grammers must spray a lit match using an aerosol can — hopefully creating a makeshift torch.

And some people do create makeshift torches. We congratulate these individuals — they have completed the Fire Spray Challenge, and are now Instagram's hottest users.

Others, unfortunately, get burned.

Some preteens are even getting in on the fun. Who gave these children matches? These children are too young to have matches.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, this isn't the first unwise Instagram trend to sweep the Internet. Extreme phone pinching, in which participants hold their iPhones over toilets, bridges and other precarious locations, made the rounds last fall.

Stay safe, everyone.
