Ross and Monica in Friends has to be one of the most famous on-screen brother-sister relationships out there.

But did you ever stop to question why the show's writers chose to make them related?

Well, prepare to have your mind blown...

That tweet, which was posted by comedian Emily Heller on Saturday, has since been shared 7000 times.

People were shook...

Pretty soon, the Ross hate started flowing.

Heller quickly posted a clarification...

...but despite her protestations, her initial joke ended the same way most viral tweets end -- with a good ol' heated debate.

Still, it did give Heller the opportunity to post this follow-up.

Well that escalated quickly.
