Warning: Contains spoilers for the Game of Thrones Season 6 finale.

LONDON -- Game of Thrones Season 6 didn't end on quite the same horrendous cliffhanger that the last season did, but there were still a lot of huge questions left unanswered and big hints about what Season 7 might have in store for us.

And while it looks like there are a lot of major things to be excited about -- Daenerys' impending invasion of Westeros being right up there -- the seeds were also sewn for a couple of potentially huge rifts between key characters.

Season 7, in short, looks set to be the year of the sibling rivalries.

Jon and Sansa

When Sansa was reunited with her half brother at near the beginning of Season 6, it looked like a dream come true. The reality hasn't quite matched up with the expectation, though.

Although the two of them have shared some touching moments, they've also argued about battle tactics and butted heads over Sansa being left out of important discussions (something which prompted her to write that letter to Littlefinger and essentially win the Battle of the Bastards for Jon).

We know from the way she dealt with Ramsay in episode 9 that Sansa is now very different from the naive, romance-obsessed girl we saw in the show's first season -- Sansa 2.0 is strong-willed, tough, and more than happy to play the game and get her hands dirty.

Although Jon made up with her in the finale, her finale scenes -- in which the ever crafty Littlefinger tried to persuade her that she should be the Stark the North is rallying behind -- hinted that she may not be entirely content with the way things have turned out with her brother.

As the Northern houses proclaimed Jon Snow the King of the North towards the end of episode 10, Sansa shared a weak smile with Jon. But as the cheering continued, her smile faltered. Then she shared this meaningful look with Littlefinger:

The final shot in that scene lingered on Sansa's face. Her smile was gone.

The show wouldn't do this much foreshadowing if Sansa and Jon's uncertain relationship isn't going to play a big role in the coming season.

Obviously it's still very early days, but to us it looks as though Sansa's new-found strength could be in danger of tipping over into jealousy and, quite possibly, some form of betrayal.

As the ever-treacherous Ramsay Bolton said to her before she set the hounds on him: "You can't kill me... I'm part of you now."

Jamie and Cersei

This one's been brewing for awhile now. Cersei and Jamie have never exactly had a smooth relationship, but Cersei's actions in the Season Finale -- burning down the Great Sept and indirectly causing the death of her and Jamie's last remaining child -- are going to cause a hell of a lot more problems down the road.

The look the two of them shared as Cersei took her seat on the Iron Throne said it all:

It's already been theorised that Jamie will be the one to finally kill Cersei, and now that the prophecy she heard as a child is one step closer to being fulfilled, this seems more likely than ever.

Jon and Sansa's relationship might take awhile to break down -- and there's always the possibility that something will come along to heal it -- but Jamie and Cersei's is already doomed.

Now it's just a case of which one can get to the other first.
