Old and new 'Ghostbusters' casts crossing the streams on Jimmy Kimmel
LOS ANGELES -- It could be bad. Try to imagine all life as you know it stopping instantaneously and every molecule in your body exploding at the speed of light.
Or maybe some trolls will just be pretend upset.
In any case, they are crossing the streams next week when the entire cast of the original Ghostbusters -- yes, even Venkman -- will unite with the entire cast of the new Ghostbusters on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Sony announced Friday.

The studio is calling next Wednesday, June 8 -- the release date of the original film -- "Ghostbusters Day," whereupon Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson and Annie Potts (RIP Harold Ramis) will appear on the ABC late-night show alongside Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones.
There's other stuff going on that day, too: Fathom Events, which puts together out-of-the box theatrical experiences, is showing the original Ghostbusters that night in more than 800 cinemas around the U.S., a screening that will include a sneak-peek at the reboot.
The new Ghostbusters opens July 15.
