Following the death of Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna on Sunday, the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards paid tribute to the basketball legend in tear-jerking fashion.

After an opening performance from Lizzo, host Alicia Keys took to the stage to address the loss, acknowledging the impact Kobe Bryant had on the world and the building that the Grammys were being held in Sunday night, the Staples Center.

"We're all feeling crazy sadness right now because earlier today, Los Angeles, America, and the whole wide world lost a hero," Keys said. "And we're literally standing here heartbroken in the house that Kobe Bryant built."

Bryant played for the Los Angeles Lakers for 20 years and brought five championships to the city in the Staples Center.

"Right now, Kobe and his daughter Gianna and all of those that have been tragically lost today are in our spirit, in our hearts, in our prayers, they're in this building and I would like to ask everybody to take a moment and just hold them inside of you and share our strength and our support with their families."

Alicia Keys and Boyz II Men then performed a heartbreaking a capella rendition of the song "It's So Hard to Say Goodbye."

During the song, the camera lingered on a shot of Kobe Bryant's jerseys hanging in the rafters of the Staples Center.
