This 'Grey’s Anatomy' yearbook quote about coming out is so, so, so clever

It's too cute to handle.

It's not easy picking a senior quote -- how can only a few words encapsulate your whole high school experience?

Some students take yearbook quotes seriously, quoting actual life lessons they've learned in their four years of high school. Others opt for more lighthearted sayings or clever ways to slip profanities past school officials. One even went as far as thanking Satan in her senior quote.

Krysta Montoya's yearbook is definitely memorable. The high schooler quoted the episode "Life During Wartime" from Grey's Anatomy. She even specified the timestamp down the minute.

The quote is from a heartfelt scene between two doctors when they finally come to terms with their sexuality. Erica tells her love interest, Callie, that being with her is like to needing glasses. Here's Erica's adorable monologue:

When I was a kid, I would get these headaches. And I went to the doctor and they said that I needed glasses. I didn’t understand that. It didn’t make sense to me because I could see fine. And then, I get the glasses and I put them on. And I’m in the car on the way home, and suddenly, I yell. Because the big green blobs that I’ve been staring at my whole life? They weren’t big green blobs, they were leaves on trees. I could see the leaves. And I didn’t even know that I was missing the leaves. I didn’t even know leaves existed. And then ... leaves! You are glasses.

And then she says the line that Montoya quotes in her yearbook: "I am so gay. I am so, so, so gay."

Can it get any cuter? Here's the full scene:

For Montoya, the quote was "perfect."

"It's short, bold, and just gets to the point," she said via Twitter DM.

Callie and Erica's story resonated with many women who came out later in life, like Sharlene Taylor. She left a congratulatory comment on Montoya's tweet and encouraged her to find her own Callie one day.

And some were proud to share their own quotes, like this one that declares, "My hair is the straightest part of me."

Montoya said she related to Callie, since the character's family was hesitant to accept her sexuality. "She just did not care if they accepted her," the teen said. "And [she] just wanted to be her."
