New 'Guardian of the Galaxy' Pom Klementieff joins 'Ingrid Goes West'

Having recently wrapped Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, up-and-coming actress Pom Klementieff has signed on to join Aubrey Plaza and Elizabeth Olsen in the indie comedy Ingrid Goes West, Mashable has learned.

Matt Spicer will make his directorial debut with the film, which he co-wrote with David Branson Smith.

Plaza stars as the title character, a mentally unstable woman who becomes obsessed with a social media influencer (Olsen) who lives a seemingly picture-perfect life. When Ingrid sets out for the West Coast to befriend her idol, her behavior takes an unsettling turn and she becomes increasingly dangerous.

O'Shea Jackson Jr. (Straight Outta Compton), Wyatt Russell (Everybody Wants Some!!) and Billy Magnussen (American Crime Story) co-star in the movie. A recent Instagram post from one of Jackson Jr.'s fans tipped Mashable off to Klementieff's casting in Ingrid Goes West, which is currently shooting in Los Angeles.

Jackson Jr. will play Plaza's love interest, while Magnussen and Russell will play Olsen's brother and husband, respectively.

Klementieff's role is being kept under wraps, but she's the third Ingrid Goes West actress to boast Marvel creds, following Olsen (Scarlet Witch in the MCU) and Plaza, who co-stars on the upcoming FX series Legion based on the Marvel character. She's also swapping one Parks and Recreation star (Guardians' Chris Pratt) for another in Plaza.

Klementieff appeared in Spike Lee's Oldboy and the French thriller Sleepless Night before landing the potentially star-making role of Mantis in James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, which Disney will release on May 5. She's represented by WME and Untitled Entertainment.
