They didn't throw away their shot to honor the ladies.

Yesterday the world celebrated International Women's Day, a day full of honoring all of the inspiring women in our lives. To mark this occasion, the cast of the Broadway hit Hamilton decided to donate their collective salaries from their nightly performance to Dress for Success, a nonprofit organization that supports women in the workforce.

Members of the audience found inserts within their programs marking the holiday and explaining the cast's decision on how to celebrate. The cast also thanked all of the women in attendance for joining them at the show.

The decision to donate salaries can't have come easy. The cast of Hamilton had been in a long standing fight for better wages last spring. After a lot of negotiations and threats of walking out, the cast was finally given a profit-sharing agreement that worked for everyone.

The cast ended their performance by inviting their female crew members, clad in red, and shouting "Happy International Women's Day" to their crowd.
