Well, if it isn't a new Aaron Burr, sir.

Tony Award-winning Broadway smash Hamilton announced several new cast members today, following the previous announcement of Lin-Manuel Miranda's departure. They will all begin performances on July 11.

Two-time Tony Award nominee Brandon Victor Dixon, who recently appeared in Shuffle Along on Broadway, will be the next Aaron Burr. The role was originated by Leslie Odom Jr., who won a Tony Award for his portrayal of Hamilton's foe.

Even though Miranda will be leaving the show before getting to play enemies with Dixon, he endorsed the new cast member on Twitter this morning.

Lexi Lawson will be replacing Phillipa Soo as Eliza, Hamilton's wife. Lawson and Lin-Manuel Miranda played romantic leads together in the national tour of In the Heights, Miranda's first musical hit. He tweeted a hilarious picture from their time on tour together.

We imagine he'll have the same reaction when he sees Lawson and Javier Muñoz together.

As previously announced, current Alexander Hamilton alternate Javier Muñoz will be taking over the lead role full-time. Michael Luwoye will also be joining the cast in Muñoz's old position of Hamilton alternate.

Miranda and Muñoz have worked together for years, and the senior Hamilton recently shared a beautiful message on Instagram about his successor.

Lin-Manuel Miranda, Leslie Odom Jr. and Phillipa Soo will all play their last performance in Hamilton this Saturday, July 9.

We are hoping the cast turnover will lower the demand for tickets, but we are slowly starting to accept that that may never happen.
