'The Handmaid's Tale' trailer is getting a lot of people talking about Donald Trump

Hulu just got unexpectedly political.

In case you hadn't heard, dystopian literature from previous decades is currently all the rage and The Handmaid's Tale is the latest novel to re-emerge today.

The trailer for the Hulu television show based on Margaret Atwood's 1985 book was released Thursday to a variety of responses. Many supporters of the Trump administration commented on the trailer, calling the show "anti-Trump" and "leftist propaganda."

In response, a lot of folks were quick to point out that the original novel was published about 30 years ago, let alone picked up by Hulu before Trump even became the Republican Party nominee.

The show will debut on Hulu April 26, but in until then, you can come to your own conclusions by watching the trailer below.
