Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston took us on quite an adventure for the past few months. They galavanted across the globe hand-in-hand, frolicked in the sea without a care in the world and stoically sat on rocks together. They even just started to follow each other on Instagram.

But as they say, all good things come to an end. Turns out, Hiddleswift as we know it might be totally over: US Weekly reports that the two have broken up.

"Tom wanted the relationship to be more public than she was comfortable with," an anonymous source told Us Weekly. "Taylor knew the backlash that comes with public displays of affection but Tom didn't listen to her concerns when she brought them up."

The source went on to say that while Hiddleston is embarrassed by how quickly the relationship fizzled, the two "get along great and will remain friends, but they just don't see it working romantically right now."

Since the article was published, hot takes have been pouring in with a mixture of relief and sadness from #Hiddleswift theorists across the country.

At least they'll always have matching jackets.

RIP Hiddleswift. We'll never forget you.
