Zack Galifianakis brought back Between Two Ferns on Thursday with an appearance by Hillary Clinton -- and boy, were the awkward questions flying.

Galifianakis opened the parody interview show by attempting an Ellen-style prank, but it turns out that sneaking up on a presidential candidate dressed in a Halloween costume is... unwise.

"Not a good idea around the Secret Service," Clinton said.

From there, the segment was a festival of hilariously awkward questions ("What's the best way to reach you? Email?") and uncomfortable silences. It also included a commercial break sponsored by Donald Trump.

"He paid me in steaks," Galifianakis said.

Clinton, for her part, delivered more than a few deadpan zingers, including an impeccably timed "don't tell me what to say" during an exchange about the Trans-Pacific Partnership.
