LOS ANGELES -- When Honest Trailers was nominated for an Emmy, the team behind the YouTube series joked with Mashable that they would celebrate was by making an Honest Trailer, Emmmys Edition.

One month later, that idea is no longer a joke: The popular ScreenJunkies series from Defy Media has given the awards show its classic trailer-spoof treatment.

The special Emmys trailer, released on YouTube Tuesday, provides an "honest refresher" of all the shows nominated in the drama and outstanding comedy categories.

"With more than 400 scripted shows on television, no voter on earth has time to watch them all," the voice says in the trailer.

The trailer goes on to poke fun at everything from Modern Family (which the voiceover describes as: “Curl up with America’s favorite comfort show that, after seven seasons, still hasn’t told us who’s filming them) to Game of Thrones (which the voiceover calls "Downers and Dragons").

This year, the Television Academy said it was expanding its Emmy categories to include more digital, which helped short-form video score big during nominations. YouTube, Vimeo, Crackle, AOL and Funny or Die all nabbed nods in various categories.

Honest Trailers was nominated for outstanding short form variety series, alongside other popular digital properties including Maker Studios' Epic rap Battles of History and and Funny or Die's Gay of Thrones.

YouTube content was also nominated for outstanding short form or drama series for docu-series Her Story.
