Need some help figuring out how to add a filter to TikTok? No worries, we've got you covered.

Using filters on TikTok is similar to how you would use filters on other social media apps, such as Snapchat or Instagram.

It's an easy process that'll add some flare and personality to your videos and allow some filters to become trends. Let's walk through how it's done, shall we?

You May Also Like

1. Open your TikTok app and tap the "Create" button, as if you were going to make a new video.

2. Tap "Filters" on the right side of the screen.

3. Select the filter you want to apply. Scroll to search, or select one of the categories to narrow down the kind of filter you want to use.

Yep. That's about it. Simple!

But what if you're looking for a lens effect? Lens effects can be called filters but don't actually show up in the "Filters" section when you're creating a video. They're in their own separate category called "Effects", which you'll find to the left of the record button.

1. Tap "Effects."

2. Again, scroll to search, or select a category of effects to choose from.

You can also use lens effects you find on other TikTok videos.

Let's say you're watching a video that uses a lens effect that you want to use. The video will display the name of the effect it's using. You'll find it right above the creator's name on the video.

Tap the effect, and on the next page, tap "Add to Favorites" near the top of the screen.

That effect will now show up in your favorites when you go to choose an effect for your video.
