Hulu swoops in for '30 Rock' just when Netflix calls it quits

One streaming network's trash is another streaming network's treasure.

Let this be a lesson, of sorts: A TV show's streaming life is never guaranteed, but there are some the internet just can't do without. A few weeks after it was announced that Netflix would lose fan favorite 30 Rock in October (along with Friday Night Lights, which has yet to spoken for, ahem), Hulu inked a deal to become the new home for Liz, Jack, Tracy, and the TGS crew.

It's been a good month for Hulu, which also nabbed the first exclusive streaming rights to all of Will & Grace, and took home the first ever Outstanding Drama Series Emmy for The Handmaid's Tale.

In addition to 30 Rock, Hulu will take over streaming Parenthood, another NBC show from Friday Night Lights creator Jason Katims (seriously guys, what is happening to FNL). All six seasons are currently streaming on Netflix, so it's unclear if they will expire or the streaming platforms will overlap in hosting. Both 30 Rock and Parenthood were critically acclaimed but not the most widely viewed and have widened their audiences through streaming.

Hulu will also start streaming There's Johnny, an upcoming series about Johnny Carson's Tonight Show era (starring Tony Danza), the addictive U.K. reality show Made in Chelsea, and Syfy's costume/makeup competition series Face Off.
