Hotels are trying to help you stay healthy on the road
Travel can be a time of indulgence, but more and more hotels are offering amenities to help travelers stay healthy on the road.
Hyatt Hotels announced Friday a new partnership with Dr. Frank Lipman's Be Well, a wellness lifestyle company. “Our guests are embracing healthier lifestyles and are increasingly looking to integrate healthy habits into their travel experiences,” said Maryam Banikarim, Global Chief Marketing Officer of Hyatt Hotels Corporation, in a statement.
The announcement is the most recent in a trend of hotels improving health and wellness offerings for guests.

W Hotels recently partnered with “Yoga Rebel” Tara Stile, and Gansevoort Hotel has partnered with fitness company Exhale. Westin Hotels and Fairmont Hotels have also partnered with New Balance and Reebok, respectively, to provide athletic gear and fashion for health-conscious guests.
Perks of the Hyatt/Be Well partnership include “curated in-room amenities, increased fitness offerings, expanded menu options, and nutritious to-go alternatives to maintain healthy habits on the road.”
Hyatt and Be Well are also partnering with “Chef Workshops” to increased and improve food and beverage offerings for guests.
The demand for high-end fitness centers has increased in the past decade, and the industry has responded: According to a study conducted by the American Hotel & Lodging Association, the number of hotels with wellness facilities has increased by 21% from 2004 and 2014, jumping to 84%.
More than 90% of luxury hotels and 35% of budget hotels have fitness facilities.
