10 popular Instagrammers recreate iconic works of Parisian art
Instagram may be the newest way to consume art (and "art"), but popular Instagrammers are taking to the platform to show off the art of yore.
In an effort to promote a new online platform for the municipal museums of Paris, popular Instagram users have been tasked with recreating famous paintings.
The collection of recreations is titled Parallels by Paris Museés.

"Ten Instagrammers with different styles and different backgrounds worked with Paris’ municipal museums, coming face-to-face with 10 different works – but only one creative guideline, namely to reinvent what they encountered," a press release for the collection explains.
"Whether a photographer, fashion blogger or a comedy YouTuber, each Instagrammer drew on material from his or her own experiences to express his or her affinity for the original work or simply to reinterpret it with a new twist."
The results are pretty damn impressive, as you can see below. Physical prints of the photographs are available for viewing at Paris's Gare Saint Lazare rail station through the end of July.
