It's all very well and good listening to politicians talk about politics, but sometimes you just want to know what they think about Beyoncé.

Last week, Daily Edge writer Amy O'Connor had what may be the greatest idea of all time: get in touch with every single Irish TD (member of Irish Parliament) and ask them two simple questions: 1) Do you like Beyoncé, and 2) What's your favourite song?

Out of the 158 TDs in Ireland, a not-at-all-unimpressive 37 responded to O'Connor's questionnaire.

Their responses ranged from very brief to spectacularly in-depth.

O'Conner's favourite was from Sinn Féin's Jonathan O'Brien, who sent the following lengthy reply:

You can read the 37 responses in full on the Daily Edge, each of which is memorable in its own special way.

Personally, we enjoyed this response from Fianna Fáil's Declan Breathnach:

"Like most people I'm a huge fan of queen B, to paraphrase Kanye she's 'one of the best of all time. After a long day in the Dáil, putting my feet up and treating myself to some old school Destiny's Child is one of my favourite ways to unwind. 'Survivor' would have to be my favourite song of hers, what an anthem! It almost describes the life of a politician "I'm not gon stop, I'm gon work harder, I'm a survivor".

Some politicians were so excited they even got involved on Twitter, too.

And one even responded to the survey late, after further prompting from a constituent.

Good work, Ireland.
