AOC grilling Mark Zuckerberg has now morphed into a meme
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's sharp line of questioning left Mark Zuckerberg struggling for words during his hearing before the House Financial Services Committee, which was pretty satisfying to watch. As a bonus, we now also have the "Italian AOC" meme, which has enjoyed a nice tenure on Twitter in the days since the hearing.
The meme comes from a wire photo of AOC asking a question about Facebook's refusal to remove lies in political ads. She's making a hand gesture that's already beloved in the robust Italian hand gesture meme community (yes, it's a real hand gesture), so it was inevitable that Twitter — the former home of Italian Elon Musk — would latch on.
At one point, there was even an @ItalianAOC account, which was highlighted in a Twitter moment about the meme. Unfortunately, Twitter also suspended the account, leaving us unsure whether they liked the meme or not.
