We love you J.K. Rowling, but this time you're wrong about Trump

Even the queen of Twitter makes mistakes.

It is safe to say J.K. Rowling is one of the most outspoken, dedicated voices on Twitter, tirelessly fighting bigotry & discrimination.

But the Harry Potter writer is not completely shielded from making mistakes, as exemplified by her most recent Twitter storm.

On Friday, Rowling picked up a video that appeared to show Donald Trump ignoring a child in a wheelchair before leaving a White House function.

The video was originally tweeted by Ansel Herz, the deputy communications director for Democratic Rep. Pramila Jayapal.

In a series of tweets, J.K. Rowling called the president a "monster of narcissism", recalling the incident when Trump imitated a reporter with a disability:

Among the people who retweeted Rowling's tirade was Chelsea Clinton.

However, an extended version of the clip showed Trump leaning down towards the kid and speaking to him:

Herz subsequently deleted the video and apologised in a follow-up tweet:

People started calling for Rowling to correct the tweets:

Piers Morgan, who has a long-running feud with the writer, also weighed in the controversy, even forcing Chelsea Clinton to partially apologise for her retweet:

However, Rowling herself still has to rectify her inaccurate tweets on social media.

A PR representative for Rowling told Mashable the writer "doesn't have a comment at this time", and refused to comment on her behalf regarding her Twitter account.

In the most recent update, a woman who claims to be the child's mother took to Facebook to say Trump didn't ignore her son:

The woman, named Marjorie Kelly Weer later disabled her account but Jonathan Bubar, who had previously posted that Marjorie is her cousin, confirmed to Storyful that she wrote the post that is being spread around.

UPDATE 2:26 p.m. PT: Rowling posted an apology for the tweets and said she would delete "previous ones on the subject" that were inaccurate.
