They say that art imitates life, but in this case they definitely got it the wrong way round.

On Sunday night, a multitude of Hollywood stars walked the red carpet for the Golden Globes. E's live feed was there to capture it all.

When The Good Place star Jameela Jamil arrived, though, people noticed something a little strange.

Yep: someone captioned Jamil with the name Kamilah Al-Jamil, which is actually the name of her Good Place character Tahani's sister (played by Rebecca Hazlewood) -- the same sister who is constantly one-upping Tahani in the show.

Whether it was a simple mistake or a fairly genius piece of meta comedy is unclear -- but either way, the caption seemed to go down a treat.

E!'s red carpet team later corrected themselves, clarifying on air that they did in fact know Jamil's name.

Splendid work, caption writer.

UPDATE: Jan. 8, 2019, 10:51 a.m. AEDT E! Entertainment clarified that its team did in fact know Jameela Jamil's name. This article has been updated to reflect this.
