Jay Z has 99 problems but being consistently overlooked by the Songwriters Hall of Fame ain't one.

Jay made headlines last year when he was the first rapper to even earn a nomination and now he's confirmed to actually receive the honor. Songwriters are eligible 20 years after their first hit -- so for Jay Z, that means 1996's Reasonable Doubt.

Nile Rodgers made the announcement on CBS This Morning. Jay Z makes up the Class of 2017 alongside Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds, Max Martin and Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis.

Rodgers called Jay Z a "revolutionary" and pumped his fist to celebrate the victory of finally acknowledging rap's massive influence on culture. "He's changed the way we listen to music, he's changed the way we have fun, the way that we cry," Rodgers explains.

Below are images of how we presume the Knowles-Carter family felt waiting for the results.
