Joe Biden: a must-have for any difficult public appearance.

On Wednesday morning, President Obama stood in the Rose Garden to deliver a statement on the election results and pledge a peaceful transition of power and reassure disappointed Hillary Clinton supporters.

"I've lost elections before," he said. "Joe hasn't, but you know."

That's when Biden came through with a trademark Biden side hug. "You beat me badly," he corrected, referring to his own ill-fated presidential campaign in 2008.

And now, transfixed by Biden's ability to be light-hearted in any scenario, a weary internet wants a side hug, too.
