John Boyega has become the latest actor to praise the use of inclusion riders, following Frances McDormand's memorable Oscars speech earlier in the month.

Speaking at a Pacific Rim: Uprising screening, everyone's favourite stormtrooper described the idea as "fantastic". He also said he'd be interested in adopting them for his own production company, UpperRoom Productions, the BBC reports.

"We are defining and reshaping the industry at the moment," Boyega said. "A lot of the secret rules of Hollywood are unfounded and unlawful so to start including them makes our industry better."

Inclusion riders can be added to contracts to ensure a certain diversity criteria is met in a film. You can read more about them here.

In the weeks since McDormand made her speech, a growing number of actors have said they'll be adopting inclusion riders.

"Those who wish to defy [the use of inclusion riders], they're held accountable," Boyega added.

"So for me, I love that it's happening."
