John Boyega's movie workout sessions look painfully hilarious

We regularly see actors rocking chiselled physiques as they blast their way across our cinema screens — but we rarely get a glimpse of what's behind those sculpted muscles.

The pain. The sweat. The nightmarish leg days.

In the short behind-the-scenes workout video he posted on Sunday, Star Wars star John Boyega gives us an insight into this world — and a glimpse at the cheerful relationship he has with his very serious personal trainer, Tim Blakely.

"So there you have it, that was one workout. I train six days a week, and if I don't get to train in the morning because of work commitments, then I have to do cardio in the morning and weights in the evening," says Boyega at the end of the video, before turning his attention to his personal trainer.

"He doesn't say much, but in his heart, he's proud of me for this workout. You proud of me, Tim?"

"Yep," responds an unimpressed Tim.
