Director tweets public apology to Keira Knightley after criticising her in interview
LONDON -- Irish film director John Carney publicly apologized to Keira Knightley after leveling some harsh criticism at the Begin Again actress in a recent interview.
Carney directed Knightley in the 2013 drama in which she played a struggling musician. In a recent interview with The Independent, he spoke negatively about the experience.
When asked about what he learned from making Begin Again, Carney replied: "I learned that I'll never make a film with supermodels again."

"I don't want to rubbish Keira," he continued, "but you know it's hard being a film actor and it requires a certain level of honesty and self-analysis that I don't think she's ready for yet and I certainly don't think she was ready for on that film."
