A day after José Fernández died in a boating accident, the Miami Marlins players will pay tribute to their young pitcher by all wearing his jersey number against the Mets on Monday night.

Employees of Majestic, Major League Baseball's jersey manufacturer, stayed up all night making the jerseys for Monday's game, per Clark Spencer of the Miami Herald. They were shipped from Philadelphia and arrived about an hour before game time.

Fernández — one of the most dominating pitchers in the game — was scheduled to pitch Monday.

This could also mark the last time a member of the Marlins wears No. 16. Team owner Jeffrey Loria said Monday that no one will wear Fernández's number again, effectively — but unofficially — retiring the number. If that does come to fruition, it would mark the Marlins' first retired number aside from Jackie Robinson's No. 42, which is retired across the sport.

The Marlins will also limit pre-game and in-game festivities. Its mascot, Billy the Marlin, won't be in attendance, and a solo trumpet will play "Take Me Out To The Ball-Game" during the seventh-inning stretch, according to MLB.com's Oliver Macklin.

Here's the Marlins' starting lineup, with each player listed as No. 16:
