José Fernández had cocaine and alcohol in his system when he was killed in a boat crash, the Miami medical examiner said in a new report.

The Miami Marlins pitcher was killed along with two others when his boat hit a jetty near Miami Beach Sept. 25.

The Miami-Dade medical examiner found cocaine in Fernández's system at a level of .126 mg/L, according to the Miami New Times.

The medical examiner also found Fernández's blood alcohol was at .147 at the time of his death. The state's legal limit for driving is .08.

Two friends, Eduardo Rivero and Emilio Macas, also died in the crash. All three had alcohol in their systems, and Rivero also came up positive for cocaine.

Authorities haven't officially determined who was controlling the boat, but the Miami New Times reported that friends and relatives say it was likely Fernández, who owned the boat.

All three passengers died of blunt force trauma to the head and torso.

Fernández was beloved in the Major League. The pitcher was expecting a child with his girlfriend.
