When Justin Bieber stormed off the stage during a performance in Manchester, U.K., he wasn't angry at his fans. He just wanted them to listen.

The pop star penned an open letter that he shared on Twitter -- and subsequently deleted -- in which he addressed his sudden exit from the Oct. 23 show.

"All I was simply doing was wanting people to listen; to kind of hear me out a little bit," the letter reads. "Certain cities aren't going to want to hear me out, and you know, sometimes it's my job to just say, 'Hey, I'm not going to try to force anything.'"

Bieber fled the stage on Oct. 23 after his request for the crowd to keep quiet between songs was ignored. He later returned and explained that a screaming crowd limits his ability to connect with fans.

"It's not me trying to be an asshole," Bieber said in a video shot after he came back to finish the show. The pop star reportedly left the stage again later, out of frustration.

The original version of Bieber's letter is no longer available, but you can read it in full in the below screenshot (captured by Us Weekly).
