When in Rome, do as the Romans do.

Murals of Kanye West making out with Kanye West and Kim Kardashian's nude selfie have popped up in Australia during the past week -- and locals have been getting in on the action.

For something to do or to send a political message, Australians have been making out or posing naked in front of these multi-storey paintings in Sydney and Melbourne.

Graffiti artist Scottie Marsh recently painted the mural of Kanye loving Kanye and posted a photograph of it on his Instagram on Sunday. Since then, he has been posting pictures of people locking lips in front of his magnificent work of art. True love.

A similar reaction has happened in front of the Kardashian mural.

After posting her original selfie on Twitter and Instagram, Kardashian copped a huge serve of criticism. She wrote a blog post defending her decision to take her clothes off, saying she hoped her image would empower women and girls across the world.

It has definitely empowered some women Down Under.

Australian woman Lauren Elizabeth Shelley went nude in front of the Kardashian mural just after it was painted to stand up to body shamers. In a post on Instagram, she told the haters they cannot "tell me not to love my thick errrthang."

Despite the powerful message, on Tuesday morning the Kardashian mural in Melbourne was defaced with the word "slut." Following this, Shelley returned with her friends to take a group nude shot, sending a defiant message against slut shaming.

"We can't be shamed," Shelley wrote on Instagram. "Rallied these queens to say NO to slut shaming ... we wear our sexualities loud and proud."

You can't say Australians aren't a passionate bunch.
