Kirsten Dunst does not care about Spider-Man movies.

At least, not any besides the ones she was in; the 2002 Spider-Man, 2004's Spider-Man 2, and the notoriously awful Spider-Man 3 in 2007 (did you see this movie, Kirsten??).

In the July issue of Marie Claire, the Fargo actress brushed off any Spider-Man questions, saying ‘We made the best ones, so who cares?"

Dunst expressed similar thoughts to Variety last month, saying "Everyone likes our Spider-Man. C’mon, am I right or what? Listen, I’d rather be in the first ones than the new ones.”

She's not wrong, given the forgettable writing in 2012's The Amazing Spider-Man and its sequel, but leads Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone had enviable chemistry (not least because they were dating) and formidable acting chops whether together or separate.

It also bears mentioning that if Dunst was in the best Spider-Man movies, she was also in the worst. Spider-Man 3 happened, no matter how much we try to block it out. A lot of money went into that, and a lot of trauma came out.

Given the highly-anticipated release of Spider-Man: Homecoming this summer with its diverse and charismatic young cast, Dunst's comments seem like textbook sour grapes.

"I’m like, 'You make it all you want,'" she told Marie Claire. "They’re just milking that cow for money. It’s so obvious. You know what I mean?’"

SO WAS SPIDER-MAN 3, KIRSTEN.
