Warriors star Klay Thompson now famous for the worst dunk fail in history

You just won your second NBA championship, so now it's time to go pay respects to your shoe sponsor in China aaaand… embarrass yourself, the NBA, and said shoe sponsor, in epic fashion.

On Saturday, a tragic video of Golden State Warriors star Klay Thompson began making the rounds on social media and it will live in basketball infamy. At least one of the videos appear to be from China's Weibo, and it shows Thompson, clad in non-Warriors promotional gear, trying to dunk. Twice. And failing.

The first attempt looks like a mere miscalculation. No biggie. Even NBA champs miss a dunk. But the second attempt, in which Thompson attempts a 360 dunk, ends in disaster. Not only does Thompson miss the dunk by getting the ball caught on the rim, he falls down and rolls into the stands, lying limp on the ground in the aftermath of the attempt.

Thankfully, the moment on the ground is more about wounded pride than any actual injury. The event's announcer is quick to say, "It's okay, it's okay, it's okay. I think he just needs a break."

Sneakerheads will note that Thompson's shoe sponsor is the Chinese brand Anta. So while having an NBA champ on your roster is priceless, having that same champ come up short during a simple jumping exhibition is definitely not going to help Anta's shoe sales.

The only upside here is that, unlike his teammate Draymond Green, Thompson is incredibly humble and soft-spoken, so his promotional nightmare isn't likely to encourage too many barbs from NBA competitors. But the fans? Well, yeah, they're going in on him, hard.
