Reporter nearly hit by a car on live TV broadcast

Reporting on live TV will always have its mishaps, but for KTVU reporter Alex Savidge, one unexpected moment nearly landed him in the hospital.

Savidge was reporting roadside on Tuesday when two cars behind him collided, sending one directly into the area where the news crew was working.

"Fuck me," Savidge can be heard saying just off-camera immediately after the accident, followed a number of people saying that they're "OK."

Later footage confirms that both Savidge and his crew were uninjured, and the cameraman walks over to the camera at the end of the clip to say that both drivers were also OK.

Following the incident, Savidge and his cameraman Chip shared am emotional moment where Savidge thanks Chip for warning him about the oncoming car.

Savidge stayed on air long enough to tell his wife that he was OK. 


Savidge then posted a video on Facebook, where he further explained the incident and gave a better view of the road where the accident took place.
