Terrifying footage shows lightning bolt narrowly missing car

Yup, that's pretty close.

LONDON -- Lightning -- particularly the forked, scary kind -- isn't all that common in Britain.

The man who filmed the footage below in Bournemouth, UK, on Tuesday probably wasn't expecting to capture much more than a bit of pelting rain when he turned his camera on.

He got a fair bit more than he bargained for, though.

It's sort of hard to see what's going on at first, but if you re-watch the clip it looks as though a bolt of lightning hits the tree by one of the parked cars in the distance.

Luckily, nothing was damaged and no-one was hurt.
