Social media just got a little bit better after inspiring activist and Nobel Prize winner, Malala Yousafzai, announced she will now be active on Twitter.

On Friday morning the 19-year-old sent her first seven tweets from her very own verified personal Twitter account to celebrate her high school graduation.

Yousafzai followed her first, simple "Hi, Twitter" message — which already had over 30,000 likes at time of writing — with a thread of six tweets explaining why she's finally decided to share her voice on the social platform after all these years.

The activist shared that today is her last day of high school and said that, while graduating is bittersweet, she's excited for her future.

She also expressed concern for girls around the world who may never get the opportunity to complete their education, sharing that she'll be embarking on her Girl Power Trip — a mission that involves meeting with girls around the world to fight for their future education, which she plans to complete before starting college.

She also encouraged Twitter users to join her both on and off the platform in her fight for bettering girls' futures.

After her first tweets, many users, including Twitter's official account, gave her a special welcome to the platform.

Though Yousafzai's personal account appears to be created in November 2012, she had yet to send a tweet. Instead, relevant news and updates were communicated through the Malala Fund Twitter account, Yousafzai's organization that works to advocate for girls' quality education.
