Chinese man tries to set nurse on fire, in retaliation for mother's death
A bereaved man from Baoji in Shaanxi, China, has been arrested after he attacked a nurse at Baoji Central Hospital by dousing her with petrol.
According to local news reports, the man identified only by his surname Da ambushed the nurse, Li Ming, at random at in the lift and threatened to burn her and the hospital down after pouring a can of petrol on her.
While struggling to get away from her assailant, Li received several blows on the head from Da.

Fortunately for Li, she managed to escape when four men rushed into the lift to subdue him.
According to local authorities, Da's mother had gone missing from the hospital on Feb. 16, where she was being treated for serious cerebral infarction, reported Huashan News.
A doctor treating Da's mother, Dr. Hwang, told reporters that due to the patient's state of illness, she was to be kept on close watch.
However, Da's mother managed to slip past the nurses and committed suicide. Despite an extensive search by the hospital staff and the Da family, the elderly woman's body was discovered March 6 at the Qingjiang River.
Da demanded compensation from the hospital, but a settlement has not been reached.
It is unknown what triggered Da to decide to harm Li, but he was noted to have been in an emotional state when he was taken into custody.
