Nothing soothes an adult baby like a little 18th century harpsichord.

No one knows this better than McDonalds, who has recently decided to use classical music to deal with their drunk customers. Select McDonalds locations in Scotland, England, and Australia now play Mozart at select hours in an effort to soothe some of their more inebriated customers.

McDonalds has been home to more than a few drunken brawls, thanks to the super accessible locations and convenient late night hours.

The chain first experimented with the idea in Glasgow two years ago before expanding it to Gloucester and Liverpool. Certain locations in Australia have recently started to adopt the idea, hoping to soothe anxious adult customers with music that supposedly helps babies learn math. I dunno.

It's unclear how much of an influence the "Mozart effect" has on people, but it's far better than actually trying to intervene in a fight between two people competing to get to the head of a two person line.

My local bus station recently started to play Mozart, and I'll say this: it really adds atmosphere especially with all the pigeons flying around, crapping on passed out passengers.
