Mean Girls is back in theaters. But it's not so much a remake of the 2004 comedy that made "fetch" happen (sort of). It's a movie musical inspired by the Broadway show based on the movie, which Tina Fey wrote after reading Rosalind Wiseman's 2002 parenting book, Queen Bees and Wannabes. Not only will audiences get to see the re-enactment of beloved catchphrases about do's ("On Wednesdays, we wear pink!), don'ts (Mathletes is "social suicide"), and dates (October 3rd!). They'll also get to see Reneé Rapp, Angourie Rice, Avantika, and Auli'i Cravalho sing out the lots of feelings their characters have in this high school comedy.

But when do the laughs stop? Basically — do you need to stay through the credits, lest you miss a post-credit scene that's a must-see?

Blame the MCU for this becoming an ongoing question of which movie theater attendees need to be mindful. Sure, it's unlikely Mean Girls will drop clues to a spinoff, but maybe there's a bonus cameo? Or an extra bit of girly goodness? Without spoilers, we've got the answer below.

Yes. There's a Mean Girls post-credit scene.

If you're still bopping along to the bangers on this soundtrack, be sure to stay through the credits for one more moment of Queen Bee Regina George in all her glory. Consider it the cherry on top for watching the long list of cast and crew members who contributed to this flashy and sassy musical.

Mean Girls opens in theaters Jan. 12.
