Actress Megan Fox recently spoke to L.A. Times just in time for the release of her latest project, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadowsbut the conversation went way beyond the film.

Fox touched on everything from her experience with string theory to discovering conspiracies of government planting ancient artifacts in pyramids (she doesn't elaborate on which country's government).

While she loves acting, and is enjoying her recent foray into comedy, Fox emphasized that her interests lie in a variety of topics beyond the screen.

"You know how women that are always cast in James Bond movies are pinups but their job in the movies is always being a marine biologist or neuroscientist?" she asked the reporter from the Times. "I think people react to me that way. Like, 'Right, she's studying neurobiology.' But I am really interested in that."

Fox explained that she has always been interested in alternative history and archaeology.

"I’ve always been really consumed by these deep mysteries that exist on our planet that can’t be explained today by science," she said. "They eat away at me.”

Fox thinks journalism is the best way to devote herself to these interests and expressed interest in pursuing a job as a reporter with media company Vice

"I don’t know how that could ever work, but I do have a little bit of a journalistic streak and I’m also reckless enough to do well in that field, I think," she said.

The piece shows an introspective side of Fox, and she also spoke about how she thinks folks "are plebeians that are brainwashed by the type of media they expose themselves to..."

"It doesn't...matter what I say, or how eloquent a speaker I may be, or how positive my intentions may be. I'm going to be made into what people desire me to be," she said. "At this moment, they might desire to exalt me onto a pedestal. But the next? You're a human sacrifice. The control is not in my hands."
