Proving that men just can't leave anything alone -- trust me, I know! -- Google searches for "International Men's Day" spike on "International Women's Day" as Men Who Are Mad Online™ whine, "But when is MY day?"

Reddit user R1zzles posted this clever graph using data culled from Google Trends. It shows that searches do tend to spike right on International Women's Day, which is celebrated on March 8.

For the record, there is an official International Men's Day, for some reason, celebrated on November 19. But, apparently many men are not content with the knowledge the other 364 days a year (365 days on leap years!) are set aside for "Well, actually..." tweets.

And R1zzles' graph (which they say they created in Excel) checks out. I ran the search terms through Google Trends, and here's the search for International Men's Day across the last 10 years. While there are spikes in November for Men's Day, the bigger spike in searches is, sigh, yes, on International Women's Day.

Next, here's a nice comparison of searches for the days honoring both genders, which shows how the spikes overlap.

Also interesting: there's no apparent surge in searches for International Women's Day on International Men's Day.

So to all my fellow men out there who are so damn thirsty for attention, save it until tomorrow. (Or, you know, never.)

Now's really not the time to be worried about whether or not men get their due because, well, look at the history of the world. We'd all be better off if men just shut up for a while.

Happy International Women's Day, everybody.
