Microsoft held a Surface event on Thursday, and wouldn't you know it, there are some new Surface devices to talk about.

Specifically, the Surface Pro 10 and Surface Laptop 6 are almost ready to be in your hands, or on your desk, or wherever you feel like putting them. The devices launch in the spring, with the Surface Pro 10 starting at $1,199 and the Laptop 6 starting at $1,199.

Of course, both devices promise a litany of improvements over previous models. Here's what that means.

First up is the new laptop/hybrid model from Microsoft, the Surface Pro 10.

The good news is there are some cool improvements to talk about. For one, it's got a 13-inch PixelSense Flow display with 2880x1920 resolution, so things will look good as heck. The refresh rate also goes up to 120Hz. Microsoft is promising the new display is also less reflective and works better outdoors.

There's also a new Intel Core Ultra 5 or 7 processor that might put the device more on par with something like an iPad Pro in terms of horsepower. RAM goes all the way up to 64GB and onboard storage goes up to 1TB. And yes, the keyboard has a dedicated Copilot key for AI nonsense. Speaking of AI, both of these new devices can use built-in AI to enhance the way your video calls look by adding effects or automatically framing the subject.

Last but not least, the Surface Pro 10 has a pair of Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports for external display purposes.

If you want a regular laptop, the Surface Laptop 6 is the one for you.

For starters, its display comes in two sizes: 13.5 inches or 15 inches. Intel Core Ultra 5 or 7 processors are available, and Copilot is naturally supported out of the box. RAM and storage options are the same as on the Surface Pro 10, as are the Thunderbolt 4 ports. However, Surface Laptop 6 also has a USB-A port and a headphone jack. Nice!

In general, it seems like both devices can do a lot of the same things. It just comes down to whether you want a tablet or a full-on laptop. Who doesn't love choices?

Surface Pro 10 and Laptop 6 pre-order info

Both the Surface Pro 10 and Laptop 6 are available to pre-order right now on Microsoft's website. The devices will be released on April 9.
