Netflix is getting into the Mindy Kaling business. The streaming platform has ordered a 10-episode coming-of-age comedy based on her teenage life.

Written and executive produced by Kaling, the show will focus on the complicated life of a first-generation Indian-American girl. The leading role is still to be cast, but come through, diverse onscreen representation!

She will also serve as the showrunner alongside Lang Fisher. David Miner and Howard Kline are executive producers.

This project for Netflix marks her last for Universal Television. She recently signed an eight-figure deal with Warner Bros. to develop new projects under her production company Kaling International.

It's been quite a year for Kaling already, and it's only March. Her film Late Night debuted to critical acclaim at the Sundance Film Festival. Amazon Studios bought it for $13 million and will release it theatrically on June 7.

Kaling is also working with Hulu on an original show, her take on the film Four Weddings and a Funeral. With this untitled Netflix comedy, Kaling is shaping up to be one of the most intriguing comedic voices of our time.
