Hilarious new meme sees how movie posters compare their *actual* plots
A new meme making the rounds on Twitter highlights just how deceiving movie posters can be.
While movie posters usually do a pretty solid job of establishing important characters and sharing witty taglines that give insight into the film, they don't always reflect the important plot lines that resonate with viewers.
Take the Knives Out movie poster, for example. It shows and has air of mystery to it, which checks out. The movie is about a family and solving a murder mystery, but it's also about Chris Evans' cable-knit sweater, which The poster/The plot meme clearly communicates.

To format the meme, simply type "The poster" and "The plot" side-by-side, then share a photo of a movie poster and a screenshot from the film that you feel properly encapsulates the plot.
Some memes for movies like the Call Me By Your Name and 500 Days of Summer are more funny than eye-opening, but others like the poster/plot comparisons for Brokeback Mountain or Her show that movie posters can occasionally be super misleading.
